A slow autumn capsule wardrope

Autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. The changing colors of the leaves, the crisp air, and the cozy feeling of wearing warm clothes and layers are all reasons to love this season. As we transition from summer to autumn, it’s the perfect time to create a slow autumn capsule wardrobe.

A capsule wardrobe is a collection of essential pieces that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. The idea is to have fewer clothes but more options. When creating a slow autumn capsule wardrobe, it’s important to focus on quality over quantity. Choose pieces that are well-made and will last for years to come both stylewise and in terms of quality.

Start by assessing your current wardrobe. What pieces do you already have that can be worn in the autumn? Look for items like sweaters, jeans, and boots. These are all staples of a slow autumn capsule wardrobe. Next, dont forget to integrate your summer dressers and skirts that are perfect for layering with cozy sweaters and socks. Some people like to make a list of the pieces you have but im more of a visual person so I perfer images or simply looking at my closet.

When or if shopping for new pieces, look for items that are versatile and can be worn in different ways and seasons. For example, a classic trench coat can be dressed up for a night out or worn with jeans and sneakers for a casual weekend look. A cozy sweater can be worn with a skirt, dress, trousers, or leggings.

Finally, don’t forget to incorporate your personal style into your capsule wardrobe. Choose pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable. Remember, the goal of a slow autumn capsule wardrobe is to simplify your life, not to restrict your personal style. Timeless for me might not be the same as for you.

In conclusion, creating a slow autumn capsule wardrobe is a great way to simplify your wardrobe while still looking put together and staying warm. Focus on quality over quantity, choose versatile pieces, and don’t forget to incorporate your personal style. With a little bit of effort, you can create a wardrobe that will last for years to come.

Homemade Herbal salt

This Sunday I made a couple of jars of Homemade herbal salt, it was a very soothing and almost meditative task. It’s also a lovely idea for a homemade and sustainable gift. Herbal salt is an easy and sustainable way to add flavor to your dishes that is both healthy and delicious. The best part is that you can grow and dry the herbs yourself, which makes it even more satisfying to use in your cooking. I used dry herbs from both my gardens; the spanish and the Swedish and I used, Rosmary, Oregano, thyme and sage.

To start, you’ll need to grow your herbs. You can do this in your garden or in pots on your balcony or windowsill. Some great herbs to use for this recipe include rosemary, thyme, sage, and oregano. These herbs are easy to grow and will provide you with a lot of flavor but of course you can mix as you like and prefer..

Once your herbs have grown, it’s time to harvest them. Cut the herbs in the morning after the dew has dried, but before the sun gets too hot. This will ensure that your herbs are at their freshest and most flavorful.

Next, you’ll want to dry your herbs. You can do this by hanging them upside down in a well-ventilated area. This will allow the air to circulate around the herbs and dry them out slowly. You can also use a dehydrator to speed up the process, but slow and sustainable is the way to go. I ususally hang them on a pegrail over a radiator and it really works well.

How to make the Herbal salt

Once your herbs are dry, it’s time to make the herbal salt. Simply mix equal parts of your dried herbs and salt in a food processor or blender. You can adjust the ratio to your liking, but I find that one cup of each works well. You can also experiment with different types of salt, such as sea salt or pink Himalayan salt.

Store your herbal salt in an airtight container and use it to season your favorite dishes. It’s great on roasted vegetables, grilled meats, and even popcorn. Plus, you’ll feel good knowing that you grew and dried the herbs yourself, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly addition to your kitchen.

In conclusion, homemade herbal salt is a delicious and sustainable way to add flavor to your cooking. By growing and drying your own herbs, you can ensure that your salt is of the highest quality and tastes amazing. So why not give it a try and see how it elevates your dishes to the next level?

Seasonal Living early autumn: Embracing Nature’s Cycles for a More Fulfilling Life.

As the leaves begin to change and the air becomes crisp, we are reminded that autumn has arrived. This season is a time for change and transition, and it is the perfect opportunity to embrace seasonal living. By living in harmony with nature’s cycles, we can create a more fulfilling life that is in tune with the world around us.

One of the key aspects of seasonal living is understanding the natural rhythms of the earth. In the early autumn, the days begin to shorten, and the temperatures start to cool. This is a sign that it’s time to shift our focus from the outdoors to the indoors. It’s a great time to start preparing our homes for the colder months ahead, by cleaning, organizing, and decluttering. This will not only make our homes more comfortable but will also help us to feel more grounded and centered.

Another way to embrace seasonal living in the early autumn is to focus on the foods that are in season. This is the time of year when delicious fruits and vegetables, such as apples, pears, pumpkins, and squash, are at their peak. By incorporating these foods into our diets, we can nourish our bodies with the nutrients they need to stay healthy and strong.

In addition to focusing on our homes and diets, we can also embrace seasonal living by taking time to connect with nature. The early autumn is a beautiful time to go for a hike, take a nature walk, or simply spend time outdoors. By immersing ourselves in nature, we can find peace and tranquility, and we can connect with the natural world on a deeper level.

Finally, to fully embrace seasonal living in the early autumn, it’s important to take care of ourselves. As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, it’s easy to feel down or depressed. However, by practicing self-care, we can boost our mood and stay healthy and happy throughout the season. This can include things like getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and taking time to relax and unwind.

In conclusion, living in harmony with nature’s cycles is a powerful way to create a more fulfilling life. By embracing the changes that come with the early autumn, we can prepare ourselves for the colder months ahead, nourish our bodies with seasonal foods, connect with nature, and take care of ourselves. By doing so, we can live a more balanced and harmonious life that is in tune with the world around us.

Conscious Fashion: How to Build a Sustainable and timeless Wardrobe

As more and more people become aware of the impact of fast fashion on the environment, the concept of conscious fashion has gained traction. Conscious fashion is all about making mindful choices when it comes to clothing, with a view to reducing waste and minimizing harm to the planet. If you’re looking to build a sustainable and timeless wardrobe, here are some tips to get you started.

Invest in quality pieces. One of the key principles of conscious fashion is to buy quality over quantity. Instead of buying lots of cheap, disposable items, invest in a few high-quality pieces that will last for years. Look for natural materials such as cotton, wool, silk, and linen, as these are more sustainable than synthetic fabrics. When it comes to choosing colors and styles, opt for classic pieces that will stand the test of time, rather than following fleeting trends.

Choose second-hand or vintage clothing. Buying second-hand clothing is a great way to reduce waste and give pre-loved items a new lease of life. Look for thrift stores, consignment shops, or online marketplaces like eBay or Depop. You might be surprised at the gems you can find! Vintage clothing is also a great option, as it tends to be well-made and has a unique style that sets it apart from mass-produced clothing.

Support ethical and sustainable fashion brands. If you do choose to buy new clothing, look for brands that prioritize ethical and sustainable practices. This might mean using organic or recycled materials, paying fair wages to workers, or minimizing their carbon footprint. Do your research and support brands that align with your values.

Take care of your clothes. Proper care is essential if you want your clothing to last. Follow the care instructions on the label, and store your clothes in a way that will keep them in good condition. Repair any damage promptly, rather than throwing items away when they start to show signs of wear and tear.

In conclusion, building a sustainable and timeless wardrobe is all about making mindful choices. By investing in quality, choosing second-hand or vintage clothing, supporting ethical brands, and taking care of your clothes, you can create a wardrobe that is both stylish and sustainable. Remember, every small change makes a difference.

Slow Living for Busy Professionals: How to Find Balance in a Fast-Paced World

Everywhere I see ‘Back to work’ and back to school’ but does one have to go back to stress and high spead? In today’s fast-paced world, it can be challenging for busy professionals to find balance in their lives. However, the concept of slow living offers a solution to this problem. Slow living is all about taking a step back from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embracing a more relaxed and mindful approach. In this blog post, we will explore some tips on how to find balance through slow living.

One of the first steps to embracing slow living is to simplify your life. This means taking a look at your daily routines and identifying areas where you can cut back. For example, if you find yourself spending too much time on social media or watching TV, try to limit your screen time. Instead, focus on activities that bring you joy and help you relax, such as reading a book or taking a walk in nature.

Another important aspect of slow living is being present in the moment. This means focusing on the task at hand and avoiding distractions. For example, if you’re spending time with your family, put away your phone and give them your undivided attention. By being present in the moment, you can fully appreciate the experiences and people in your life.

In addition, slow living encourages a more mindful approach to eating and exercise. This means taking the time to prepare healthy meals and engaging in physical activity that you enjoy. Rather than rushing through a meal or hitting the gym for a quick workout, slow living encourages you to savor the experience and appreciate the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

In conclusion, slow living offers a way for busy professionals to find balance in a fast-paced world. By simplifying your life, being present in the moment, and embracing a mindful approach to eating and exercise, you can live a more fulfilling and balanced life. So, take a step back from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embrace the joys of slow living.

Easy TV cover up

In today’s fast-paced world it’s perhaps a bit extra important important to create a calm and peaceful space in our homes. One way to achieve this is by hiding electronics, such as a television, when not in use. Toda I’m sharing a simple and stylish way to cover up your TV using the same method as when you hang a tapestry.

To start, you’ll need a few materials: a decorative tapestry or fabric, a curtain rod, and some hooks or nails. The first step is to measure the width of your TV and add a few inches to each side to ensure full coverage. Then, measure the height of your TV and add a few inches to the top and bottom to allow for the tapestry to hang freely. I used a thick curtain I already had at home.

Next, attach the curtain rod to the wall above the TV using hooks or nails. Make sure the rod is level and centered above the TV. Then, thread the tapestry or fabric onto the curtain rod and adjust it so that it covers the TV completely. You can use clips or pins to hold the tapestry in place if necessary.

Now, whenever you want to hide your TV, simply slide the tapestry along the rod and let it hang in front of the screen. When you’re ready to watch TV again, just slide the tapestry back to reveal the screen.

Not only does this method create a calm and clutter-free space, but it also adds a decorative element to your room. Choose a tapestry or fabric that complements your decor and reflects your personal style. And if you want to switch things up, it’s easy to change the tapestry or fabric to something new.

In conclusion, hiding electronics such as a TV can help create a more peaceful and mindful living environment. By using a decorative tapestry or fabric and a simple curtain rod, you can easily cover up your TV when not in use. This method is not only practical, but it also adds a stylish touch to your space. So why not give it a try and see how it can transform your home into a calming oasis of slow living?
