There’s something so comforting about the scent of baked apples, cinnamon, and cardamom filling the kitchen. This cake is one of those simple, timeless recipes that feels right all year round — soft, golden, and just sweet enough.

I always peel the apples for a softer, silkier result — it makes the texture more delicate and the slices almost melt into the batter. The cardamom adds warmth and depth, and the cinnamon brings that cozy, familiar scent that makes everyone wander into the kitchen to ask what’s baking.

This is an easy cake to make, beautiful to serve, and even better the next day — if it lasts that long.

Let cool slightly before serving.Serve warm with vanilla sauce, a little whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
