How close can you get to Paarirs without leaving Stockholm at all? It turned out to be quite close, with a little imagination and pure willpower, our wedding day turned out to be almost as we had imagined .. The plan was to go away for a weekend and celebrate, preferably in Paris or at least somewhere in France. Since it was not possible, we tried to make the best of the situation and it turned out better than I could have dreamed of. We checked in at Diplomat which I think feels like it breathes a little Paris with its decor but also with its view .. We had dinner at Grodan's outdoor terrace under the terrace heaters. I took a seafood soup and he took a seafood pasta. Just as we probably would have done if we had been abroad. It was just the two of us out at the restaurant and on the street a few late Christmas gift shopers passed by. Incredibly cozy. Then we walked the armrest back to our hotel room. Opened a bottle of champagne, bathed and listened to Jula de Palma. Heavenly nice and very much Parisian feeling. In the morning we chose to avoid the breakfast buffet and instead order breakfast in bed. We would have done the same if we had been in Paris. Breakfast in the room is some of the best I know. It was December 21, our wedding day but also winter solstice and it really felt in the air and in me all over. Now the light comes back. The worst is over and we managed it again this year. Even though we have been at home in Sweden since the beginning of March. Record for us.
After breakfast we took a long walk around Djurgården hand in hand. The sun was shining and it was the first day with clear blue skies in a month. It was lovely.
